Nuri, a Copenhagen-based Tunisian electronic musician and percussionist, will play his new album Irun, released just a few days ago on the Franco-Tunisian label Shouka, for the first time in Tunisia. He will be accompanied on visuals by Mogli, a pioneering artist on the Tunisian underground scene, who created the graphic design for the new album as well as the video clip for one of his tracks. The palindromically-titled album combines field recordings of a variety of African folk traditions with electronic beats, a polyrhythmic ode echoing the techniques of North African trance music.
