Introductory sound creation workshop for young audiences. Led by Arthur Zerktouni
Presentation:
This sound creation workshop is an introduction to sound recording and broadcasting: participants handle microphones, record everyday sounds and then use machines to modify the sound recordings and play them back in a short performance.
Topics covered:
Participants listen to the sounds around them and describe them orally. They then take over the recorder and record the sounds they have just described. The recordings are listened to, commented on and selected. The selected sounds are then transferred to the machines, and the participants begin to manipulate the machines. We create 3 or 4 small groups who then compose their sound performance. Finally, the groups perform in front of an audience.
Day 1:
Presentation of the day’s workshop and its progress, listening to the sounds around us.
Recording sounds using the recorder.
Listen to and select recordings.
Day2 :
Presentation of the day’s workshop and its schedule, presentation of the machines, formation of groups.
Improvisation on the machines.
Performance composition and rehearsals
Outputs :
Children will learn how to use sounds to create simple compositions and present them to an audience in the form of mini-performances.
