
INTERCAL is a series of themed events organized by La Comédie, Centre dramatique National de Reims, in collaboration with Echos Electrik, exploring existing and yet-to-be-invented links between theater and multimedia.
Shows, installations, performances, experiments… INTERCAL is designed to encourage the emergence and promotion of new hybrid and unconventional creations.
The INTERCAL CARTE BLANCHE
Throughout the season, INTERCAL offers a series of research projects that give rise to a carte blanche, a veritable laboratory for encounters and experimentation, inviting artists from the fields of theater, sound arts, visual arts and new technologies to experiment with common paths.
CONFIGURATION
– Research residency for the 2024-2025 season: for 2 artists from different disciplines who wish to work together on experimental artistic research between theater and multimedia.
– Format: 15-day residency, divided into periods of 3X5 days. The residency periods are proposed by the artists and approved by the Comédie team. The residency schedule must not exceed late spring 2025.
– Payment: remuneration for residency periods (€1880 gross per artist for all residencies).

– Be available in person for research time
– Share research with the public in a format to be agreed upon
– Propose a final research report in spring 2025
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
– Artistic pairing of theater and multimedia
– Creations already broadcast or in production are not eligible.
PUBLIC MEETINGS
During the residency period, time is set aside for sharing the research process with the public. A final restitution of the results will take place at the end of the last residency period (spring 2025), open to the public.
APPLICATION FORM

FILE SELECTION
Applications received will be examined by the INTERCAL committee.
Shortlisted projects will be interviewed in Reims during the week of June 17, 2024, for a final decision in late June/early July 2024.
