Born in Djebel Jelloud, a working-class district of Tunis, Anis Mahwechi, aka Tiga Black’Na, sees himself as a model of youthful awareness and a bearer of messages of hope. Tiga juggles rap, reggae and ragga, and expresses himself unabashedly. Having long represented his neighborhood, the artist is now moving into another dimension. His raging lyrics appeal to the whole of Tunisia, caressing the dream of universality. Like revenge, a message of hope addressed to those who suffer « poverty, repression, dictatorship and violence ». A music that sticks to reality, transmuting it when the spoken word falls silent. A tempo to take off and thwart faded clichés.
