Since 2005, Philippe Franck alias Paradise Now has been mixing extracts from the City Sonics sound arts festival he launched in Belgium with his association Transcultures and the City of Mons in 2003. These are « respectful revisitations » guided above all by the pleasure of the dj-esque sequence and the acoustic-harmonic encounter or collision. These City Sonics mixes are as many dʼintroductions
prologues/epilogues or dʼexcroissances hybrides of the sound worlds presented in this audio-nomadic festival, which produces some thirty installations and performances each summer (a selection of which appears on the annual City Sonics compilations produced by Transcultures and edited by Philippe Franck) and distributes them internationally. Electronic and matierist music, poetry
sound poetry, soundscapes and ambiences, radio creation… an introduction to the diversity of the sound arts, with commentary by a sound designer/art director and critic passionate about « sound art » in all its beautiful diversity.
PARADISE NOW invites Gauthier Keyaerts and Stéphane Kozik.
