A metal bassist with a background in hiphop and drum n bass, Niveau Zéro loves bass, rich ambience and melody. His music, powerful and subtle, gentle and brutal, makes you want to headbang furiously.
Electronica discovery at the Printemps de Bourges 2008, noticed by Jarring Effects (he took part in the JFX bit II compilation), he followed this up with a year full of releases in 2009, on labels such as Destpub, Expressillon, Lutetia Dubz, and Ad Noiseam (Scorn, Bong Ra, Enduser…).
A series of EPs in which he develops a very personal style: a Dubstep tinged with metal and hiphop: a « Metalstep » that is furiously effective on the dancefloor, seducing the Dubstep world as far afield as England and the USA.
2010 , while other EPs are planned or already in the shops, Niveau Zero arrives in May 2010 with a new album that departs significantly from the beaten Dubstep track, with metal, hip-hop (with featurings of South African Ben Sharpa, American-German Real Fake MC, or Ill Smith) or electro (with The Unik, Matta, Broken Note) accents; where we find the rich ambiences and melodies that are also his trademark.
But fans of big bass can rest assured that In-Sect contains its share of dubstep kills, and is formidable in the art of breaking necks.
The album was enthusiastically received by the indus and dubstep press in France (Noize, D-Side) and elsewhere, and enabled him to export his talents to the USA, Canada and Germany, making him one of the rare French producers to be recognized abroad.
His latest productions, notably for Peace Off – Ruff ( My Roots ), raise the bar even higher in terms of power.
