RecordmakersEfest: 2011 Edition
June 25th, 2011
« If DFA had made love with Daft Punk, we’d be their hidden child, crazy and magnificent »… A union dreamed up (and confessed on Dazed Digital) by the two Frenchmen of Acid Washed themselves: disco and French-touch, in the same electro combo.
The latest recruits to the Recordmakers stable (the label that started out with Air, and now looks after, among others, Sébastien Tellier), Andrew Claristidge and Richard d’Alpert began their joint adventure in 2009. Fans of Steve Reich and Giorgio Moroder, with a passion for machines, both modern and vintage, they set out to develop a sound that combines a concern for sophisticated electronics, an attraction for pop and a love of the dancefloor.
