VIDEO PONGEfest: 2008 Edition
June 29th, 2008
Vidéo Pong is an enhanced version of the famous arcade game Pong. This installation brings video and video games face to face. The aim is to test the playability of a game as a narrative engine.
In the context of interactivity associated with the emergence of interactive cinema, this workspace specifically explores the relationship between video games and videographic (or cinematographic) narration. The combination of game play and video writing offers a space transformed by the new place allocated to the spectator, in which playability, among other things, enables appropriation. A whole new relationship between gaming and cinema/video is taking shape, raising a host of questions about the results of these interactions.
