For FEST, Alexander Schubert will present two of his pieces, Lapalace
Tiger and Your Fox’s Dirty Gold.
//// Laplace Tiger 12′ For drum kit, arm-sensors, live-electronics and live-video Laplace/Tiger uses sensors on the player’s forearm, allowing complete control of the live electronics and structuring of the piece. What’s more, the player’s movement is the only material for the
live video. Here, traditional playing is transformed and augmented by the musician’s body movements. The body becomes an extension of the instrument.
//// Your Fox’s A Dirty Gold 14′
For solo performer with voice, motion sensors, electric guitar and live-electronics
« Fox » is what you might describe as a modern pop song.
It incorporates elements of contemporary music and experimental electronics.
The concept is to link all the elements involved with the movement and gestures of the performer. This allows the singer to control, trigger and shape parts of the composition in real time.
MAX/MSP software is used to control the live electronics and E-Fest Project lights, all controlled by the singer’s body movement and the electric guitar interface.
