WORMHOLESEfest: 2012 Edition - Winter Fest
November 24th, 2012
Wormholes is an experiment in continuous audio-visual improvisation between Mazen Kerbaj (Indian ink, solvents, various unidentified objects) and Sharif Sehnaoui (acoustic guitar).
In 2008, Kerbaj developed a system enabling him to draw live on a glass table. In this way, drawing, like music, is no longer permanent. Just as Sehnaoui can mute his strings with a single gesture, Kerbaj can instantly erase his drawing with a wave of his hand. Wormholes is an attempt to alter a segment of space/time, with
the hope of creating a corridor between two artistic disciplines, enabling them to make sense of each other. It is also the result of 12 years of artistic collaboration between the two of them.
