With Composition n°3, Arthur Zerktouni invites us to immerse ourselves in a physical, sensory perception of sound. Yet composed
of simple cotton threads, a black light and a motor, we can’t help but feel a loss of bearings, a sense of imbalance in the face of this single machine whose aim is to show us the sound frequency of its own mechanics. As is often the case in this artist’s installations, tautology is above all a method, a way of expressing a simple truth: the soundscape surrounds us, and it’s up to us to listen to it.
