This workshop is aimed at students, teachers, artists and audiovisual and multimedia professionals who wish to discover or deepen their knowledge of Pure Data digital creation software, and develop a personal project.
Based on group discussion and exchange, support from supervisors and the use of Pure Data software, workshop participants will create a multimedia work of art.
Workshop schedule :
Week 1:
– Introduction to Pure Data software (image, sound, interaction).
– Discovery of free creation tools: software and hardware.
– Introduction to current issues in multimedia creation: audio-visual performance, interactive installation, digital art, net-art, data processing, experimental music, sound art, sensory art. A range of works representative of these fields will be presented and critiqued.
– Each participant, alone or in a group, will design a work project. Each participant’s intentions and desires will be discussed in the group, to enable ideas to mature and a note of intent to be drawn up.
– Writing the blog.
Week 2:
– Going deeper into Pure Data.
– Refinement of projects, production of a functional sketch of the project.
– Presentation of projects.
– Blog writing
Week 3:
– Going deeper into Pure Data.
– Project implementation.
– Selection of two projects for the « L’objet Son » exhibition.
Week 4: For the two selected projects
– Finalization of the two selected projects.
Only the two best projects will be finalized with a professional developer, to be presented at the « L’objet Son » exhibition bringing together international artists in Sidi Bou Saïd from November 19 to 25, 2012.
